In Hebron governate PGFTU had organized a union festival on 28th of April 2010 on the anniversary of the First of May and the International Day of health and safety. That festival was attended by thousands of workers , members of various unions from different parts of West Bank , tens of martyr is families of workers , the General Secretary of the PGFTU Shaher Sead, the President of the PGFTU is office  in Gaza  , members of the national secretariat and executive committees of the PGFTU , representative of the ILO is office in Palestine Brother Moneer Qlebo , representatives of the national and formal activist in Hebron, representatives of ministries , number of employers and business men in addition to some international delegates from international trade union organizations.

The festival was opened by the Palestinian national  ----and the workers song . All the participants stood up one minute for as a glorification of the martyrs from workers, also there were many speeches presented by Brother Samoor Natsheh the head of  PGFTU his office in Hebron , Brother Moneer Qlebo the representative of ILO , Brother Abu Kefah the coordinator of the national factions  and the member of central committee of  elshab party , Brother  Shaher Saed the General Secretary of the PGFTU . And there was a speech of the international delegations presented by Sister Victoria the head of international department of the Spanish trade unions and comrade Jan Francois from CGT /France .

In his speech Brother Shaher the General Secretary congratulated the workers in the First of May, and he shed light on the difficult and bad situation of the Palestinian workers due to the measures and the practices of the occupation and the daily violations committed against the workers whish caused the death, injured and arrested of many of them. Shaher called the PNA to find job opportunities for the Palestinian workers in the local market , protect their social and union rights and provide them with the basic vocational health and safety measures  in the worksites.

The festival contains number of sections, and there were also honoring of tens of families of martyrs from workers who were killed due to the absence of the health and safety conditions as the lighters factory in Hebron, as well as the families of the famous passed way unionists from Hebron and Bethlehem.

On 29th of April On the anniversary of the first of May a delegation from the PGFTU visited the northern borderline enterance in Qalqilia governorate  (AYAL) which was built by Israel government on qalqilia lands. This entrance hinders the movement of thousands of workers to and from the governate. The PGFTU delegation listened to the problems of the workers who were faced by the difficult practices of the occupation on the entrance daily.

the delegation consists of  chief Rabeeh Khondakje the governor of Qalqilia , Shaher saed the General Secretary of the PGFTU , members of the executive committees of the PGFTU, head of American solidarity center in Palestine Sister Abla MASRUJEH , the international delegations, the head of the working office in Qalqilia Omar Elnajar , number of unionists from PGFTU office of Qalqilia .

Meanwhilem PGFTU had organized a celebration at Al-maqased hospital in Jerusalem .

In his speech , Shaher Saed greeted the workers in Jerusalem for their great role in struggle for freedom . He promised to do all the best to secure decent work for them . 

In this occasion, Saed opened the new PGFTU office in Jerusalem. From there , he called Arab investors to invest in Palestine to create jobs for thousands of unemployed workers .

Saed, also declared his support to the President is decision to boycott all Israeli products come from settlements, and he explained the importance the legal clinic which was established by the support of ILO to defend the rights of the workers who work in Israeli projects .

On Saturday , First of May , thousands of workers , males and females marched in the center of Rammala . The workers raised banners demanding the PNA to fight poverty and unemployment, asking to define the minimum wage and securing the social protection .

Afterwards , the march headed the late president Yaser Arafat is grave .

The march was headed by ministers , national activities , members of the executive committee and the secretariat of general local unions .

In the afternoon PGFTU had organized a celebration in Rammala which was attended by thousands of workers . Many words had been introduced.

On the 2nd of May , PGFTU opened a reception in the headquarter of the PGFTU in Nablus .

Meanwhile, with the cooperation of ILO  PGFTU decided to participate in the national campaign for gender auditing which comes as a part of the project enhancing gender equality .
